The development of the crankshaft

- Feb 26, 2020-

The main rotating parts of the engine, after installing the connecting rod, can undertake the up and down (reciprocating) motion of the connecting rod into a cycle (rotating) motion. Is an important part of the engine, its material is made of carbon structural steel or ductile iron, there are two important parts: spindle neck, connecting rod neck, (and other). The spindle neck is mounted on the cylinder body, the connecting rod neck is connected with the big hole of the connecting rod, and the small hole of the connecting rod is connected with the cylinder piston, which is a typical crank slider mechanism.

The lubrication of the crankshaft mainly refers to the lubrication of the big end bearing bush of the connecting rod and the crankshaft connecting rod neck and the lubrication of the fixed points of both ends. The rotation of the crankshaft is the power source of the engine. It is also the source power of the whole mechanical system.

The strong domestic demand for automobiles, the shift of the global automobile market center to developing countries, and the increasing globalization of auto parts procurement have promoted the overall automobile market in China to become a pillar industry of China's industrial development. From 2007 to 2010, the total output of crankshafts in China was 4.77 million, 6.42 million, 26.33 million and 31 million respectively, including 4.5 million, 5.75 million, 10.32 million and 14 million excluding single-cylinder engine crankshafts such as motorcycles.

China's rapid growth of the automotive industry for the automotive crankshaft to provide a broad market space. In 2010, the production and sales of automobiles in China were 18.2647 million and 18.0619 million respectively, with year-on-year growth of 32.44 percent and 32.37 percent. Among them, the production and sales of passenger vehicles were 13.8971 million and 13.7578 million, up 33.83% and 33.17% year on year; The production and sales of commercial vehicles reached 4.3676 million and 4.3041 million, up 28.19% and 29.90% year on year.

In 2010, a total of 16.995 million and 17.0259 million engines were produced and sold, up 27.44 percent and 29.73 percent, respectively, over the previous year. Diesel engines produced and sold 3,935,500 and 3,927,000 units, up 25.03 percent and 30.36 percent, respectively, while gasoline engines produced 12,965,900 and 13,025,200 units, up 28.19 percent and 29.55 percent, respectively, over the previous year. It is expected that the sales volume of China's engine market will reach about 1.34 million in 2011, with a year-on-year growth of about 13.63%. As the core component of engine, the sales volume of crankshaft is closely related to engine production and sales volume. The change of engine production and sales reflects the change of crankshaft market demand.
