How to maintain a diesel engine
To prolong the service life of diesel engines, in the process of use, it is necessary to strengthen the maintenance of the three filters of air filter, lubricating oil filter and fuel filter, and give full play to their role.
When installing the air filter, do not miss, reverse or misinstall the sealing gaskets and rubber connecting pipes, and ensure the tightness of the press fittings. The paper dust cup air filter used should be cleaned once every 50-100 hours of operation. The surface dust can be brushed off with a soft brush. If the working time exceeds 500 hours or it is damaged, it should be replaced in time. Use an oil-bath air filter. Every 100-200 hours of operation, clean the filter element with clean diesel oil and replace the lubricating oil. If the filter element is broken, it needs to be replaced immediately, and pay attention to adding lubrication according to regulations during use oil.
If the lubricating oil filter is not maintained in time when the diesel engine is used, the filter element is blocked, the lubricating oil pressure is increased, the safety valve is opened, and the lubricating oil directly flows into the main oil passage, which will aggravate the wear of the lubricating surface and affect the service life of the diesel engine. Therefore, the lubricant filter should be cleaned once every 180-200 hours of operation. If it is damaged, it should be replaced immediately to prevent impurities from entering the lubricated surface. When the diesel engine is used seasonally, the crankcase and various lubricating surfaces should also be cleaned. The method is to mix lubricating oil, kerosene and diesel oil as the washing oil. After the lubricating oil is released, the washing oil can be added for cleaning. Then, the diesel engine runs at low speed for 3-5 minutes. Then drain the washing oil and add new lubricating oil.
For every fuel filter in the fuel supply system, every 100-200 hours of operation, the debris should be removed once or replaced, and the fuel tank and various oil pipelines should be thoroughly cleaned. Especially for the electronically controlled common rail system, due to the high-pressure accurate injection, the fuel system has high precision and the cooperation clearance is small, which places higher requirements on the filtration efficiency and water separation efficiency of the fuel filter. At present, two-stage filtration systems are used, one-stage oil-water separator, one-stage diesel fine filter, water separation efficiency requirement is greater than 95%, particle filtration efficiency 3-5 microns filtration efficiency is greater than 98.6%. The companies that currently meet this performance requirement are mainly European and American companies, such as BOSCH, Luber Finder, Fleetguard, Mann-Hummel, Parker, etc. Fit (DIFITE) and so on. In daily maintenance, special care should be taken to find abnormalities, or the mileage and time required to reach the engine regulations, and need to be replaced in time. When changing oil during the transition of seasons, all parts of the entire fuel supply system should be cleaned. The diesel oil used should meet the requirements of the season, and it needs 48 hours of precipitation purification treatment.
